The story begins in old Europe; Transylvania.
Our beer recipe has been refined over the centuries in lands with pure streams of water and gold fields of barley, by our ancestors who still tell old stories that became legends. In Transylvania, (the land of Dracula) vampires and werewolves were facts of life, not just creatures that you find in books and movies.
Our ancestry can be traced back to the brew master of a village, located on the high plateaus of the Carpathian Mountains. The village is surrounded by Dark Forest. No full moon would pass without the village losing at least one maiden to the creatures of the Dark Forest. Words like “vampire” or “werewolf” were never spoken aloud, as it was believed that by simply uttering the word would bring about the loss of a family member.
Our beer became famous, not only for its rich taste, rich flavor and freshness, but for its legend. As the story goes, one night, under the full moon, the brew master left a full jar of fresh beer outside on his porch to cool from the night breeze. He fell asleep and forgot about the jar of fresh beer he had left on the porch.
The next morning, as the custom was, the villagers gathered and to their surprise, they realized that for the first time for as long as they could remember, no maiden had been taken the night before. Moments later, the brew master stormed in, demanding someone claim responsibility for the missing jar of beer! From that night onward, a fresh jar of beer is left out under each full moon and no maiden has been lost since.
Nowadays, some internet-surfing, smartphone-addicted youngsters claim that this is just an old story and the brew master was probably the one who drank the beer, and the king’s knights are responsible for driving away the creatures that lurked in the Dark Forest. But no one dares to go outside under the full moon, and the jar of beer still disappears each night.
We make our beer religiously following our ancestor’s recipe: fresh barley, hops and secret ingredients from the Old Country. The beer that you are drinking is in its purest form, being hand-crafted in our breweries and kept fresh and cold following simple, natural processes. There are no chemicals or preservatives used. Taste our beer and you will understand why no maiden has been lost for more than two centuries.
