Grado Plato Brewery was founded in 2003 in Chieri in the province of Turin, and based upon an idea by Sergio and Gabriele Ormea to open a venue that could brew beer independently. Grado Plato Brewpub started off with two recipes - Sveva, a blond beer and Spoon River, a red beer. Besides producing its own beer, the pub was characterised by its cuisine, with recipes based on the world of beer but also on snails - a true delicacy for aficionados.
