Second City Meadery was born of love and foolishness. When our founders first started dating, they took a trip to visit Detroit’s acclaimed meaderies. Being totally blown away by what they tasted, they decided to try their hand at brewing. 

The result? Many, many, many batches with no redeeming qualities whatsoever. However, we kept learning from our mistakes, and eventually developed a process that consistently churns out award winning meads. Today, we are humbled and delighted at the opportunity to share our mead with our hometown.
