6A Brewing Company began its adventure in January of 2017 when an old friend and brewer, Chris Meyer, who just finished a two-year stint as a lead brewer at DC Brau in the District of Columbia moved back to Cape Cod, Massachusetts and was hired as our Head Brewer.
After receiving our license in December of 2017, Chris, with the help of his friend, Mark Jacobs (our Brewery Manager), began experimenting with different yeast strains, malts, and hops in the pursuit of our vision of building a local brewery that would support the local community, supply local pubs/restaurants of quality beers, and proudly represent Cape Cod as a new craft beer destination.
Chris, with an eye on more Traditional style beers, and Mark with an eye on New England style IPA’s and Pale Ales began brewing an array of different brews on a 3 barrel brew house in an attempt to find the three beers that would help define our proud brewery.
We began distributing all our beers to our 4 pub partners, Flynn’s Irish Pubs (3) and Father’s Kitchen & Taphouse who both specialize in craft beers with a total of 216 craft beer tap lines between them in an attempt to gain immediate feedback from the local community.
We passed the test.
Our goal at 6A Brewing Company remains to partner with craft beer pubs whose goal is to promote local businesses. Presently we don’t have a taproom or public access to our brew house. All our beers can be found in the locations of our Pub Partners.
