Brewery started in 1825. Taken over by Melbourn Bros in 1869, then Sam Smiths in 1974 and closed. Brewing of fruit beers commenced in 1998. The Melbourn Bros brand was dropped in 2012 and bottled beers purely sold under Sam Smiths branding.
