Maregade brew beer beneath Mare Street, in the basement of The Cock Tavern. 'Gade' (pronounced 'gayle') translates as 'street' in Danish. Our name was chosen as a nod to the founder's time spent living in Copenhagen, where he brewed his first ever beer.
